White Elephant Research Camp - Student and Group Accommodation in game reserve

White Elephant Research Camp & Museum was developed by Dr. Heinz & Debbie Kohrs to give students, learners and interested visitors the opportunity, to be enlightened and experience our wilderness and the challenges we face conserving it today.

“Our passion is to preserve and conserve our wildlife sanctuary and its diversity though eco-tourism.”

White Elephant Safaris established several camps. All funding received from the camps accommodation, activities, concession and conservation levies offered are used toward managing and maintaining the property for conservation.

The camp can accommodate up to 12 guests in small twin rooms as well as 38 guests in 19 twin tents (under canvas fly sheets) with shared ablution facilities. Bedding and towels are provided. The communal kitchen is equipped with cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, stove, fridge, and freezer. An outdoor braai area and dining area (under a canvas flysheet) is located close to the kitchen.

White Elephant Research Camp now also offers a sub-camp that can be booked privately for up to 8 guests with 4 x sharing rooms, an ablution, kitchen and outside dining and boma area.
